FAQs

  • Absolutely not. We help all Canadians across all provinces, as long as you meet the required eligibility criteria. Please visit the grant application pages to review eligibility criteria.

  • You can be working with any fertility clinic across Canada to be eligible for a Modern Miracle grant. Please note that we have a partnership with Pollin Fertility in Toronto. If you are a patient of Pollin Fertility, ensure you submit the application specific to them. You can find it by visiting this page.

  • There are many considerations that go into the applicant selection process. For example, we review financial need as well as the prognosis provided by your doctor. All of these considerations help us with the difficult decision of who is selected for a grant.

Note that meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee you a grant.

  • The grant can be used to offset the cost of one IVF treatment cycle, excluding the cost of medications, storage fees and advanced testing. Please see the FAQ regarding excluded expenses.

  • Yes, if you are using donor eggs and you need to pay for their IVF cycle, you are eligible for the grant and the grant can be applied to their cycle.

You would apply for a Modern Miracle grant using all of your own information and if approved, we would pay the grant funds directly to the clinic against the invoice for the donor’s IVF cycle.

  • Once we receive your application, members of the Modern Miracle team will review the information provided. Once the information is verified, we send the signed Medical Evaluation Form to our medical advisors for expert review.

Any non-medical information that is included in the Medical Evaluation Form (i.e. applicant name, name of clinic, name of fertility specialist) is redacted and our medical advisors will never review and opine on their own patients.

Once your application has completed our review process, you will be contacted via email as to the outcome of your application.

  • While we aim to review applications as quickly as possible, it may take up to 8 weeks to complete the review.

Once the application review is completed, you will be contacted via email as to the outcome of your application.

  • The grant can be applied against expenses related to your IVF cycle (retrieval, frozen or fresh embryo transfers).

  • No, grants cannot be used to offset any IVF expenses during a government funded cycle.

  • This may be a factor when determining which applicants are selected. Given that we have limited grants to provide, preference may be given to those who do not have access or the opportunity to take advantage of a funded cycle.

  • This will be a factor when determining which applicants are selected. Given that we have limited grants to provide, preference may be given to those who have not received any other funding.

  • Unfortunately at this time, we have had to make the difficult decision to prioritize applicants who have not yet had the opportunity and privilege to have a child. If you are experiencing secondary infertility but do not have any living children, you are eligible to apply.

  • You can re-apply but we suggest only re-applying if there has been a material change in your application. For example, if your application is rejected due to medical prognosis, we recommend applying if there has been a material change to your treatment plan (eg. from using own egg/sperm to using donor).

If you’re unsure if you should re-apply, reach out to our team at hello@modernmiraclefoundation.com and we can provide guidance.

  • These grants are one-time grants. As such, you cannot re-apply after successfully receiving a grant from Modern Miracle.
